ALSO KNOWN AS IRISH OATS
These Australian sustainably grown steel cut oats are certified organic and biodynamic. Steel cut oats are made from the whole oat grain (also known as groats), that have been chopped into smaller pieces by a steel blade. They are a less refined version of rolled oats and quick cooking oats, with a firmer chewier texture, longer cooking time and a stronger wholegrain flavour. The perfect way to start the day - the body takes longer to break them down, which prevents spikes in blood sugar and keeps you feeling full longer.
HOW TO USE
> Use to make a nutritious traditional porridge. Theyre slower cooking than rolled oats, usually taking 20-30min. To shorten cooking time soak overnight in water. Soaked oats cook in around 5min.
> Grind or cook and add to baking, muffins, pancakes and homemade bread.
> Can be added to soups, stews, stuffing or served in place of rice. Delicious used in congee instead of rice.
