We're searching for a kitchen/retail assistant to join our fantastic Hobart store team!

Eumarrah has provided organic and natural food in Tasmania since 1985. We pride ourselves on being local, ethical, and environmentally aware. We're proud to provide the community with healthy wholefoods, and a better more sustainable way to shop. This role is for approximately 30-38 hours per week (Monday-Saturday), working in our Hobart deli kitchen, as well as some retail and customer service. The role is casual for the first 12 months.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • This job is 30-38 hours per week in our busy organic and natural food store. You will mainly be working in our deli kitchen, and the role involves food preparation, cooking and baking, as well as cleaning and dishwashing duties
  • It includes all aspects of life in a busy retail food store. Customer service and care are key - including advice on product use and point of sale.
  • Team participation in the nicest way.
  • Upkeep of store presentation and cleanliness.
  • Strict adherence to Eumarrah policies, safe work practices, and waste reduction.
  • Regular work Monday-Saturday

ABOUT YOU:

  • You have a passion for cooking/baking, and are handy and creative in the kitchen. Ideally you have experience with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free cooking.
  • Good understanding of handling food and food safety.
  • Experienced in providing great customer service.
  • Excellent communication skills in person, over the telephone and email.
  • Attention to detail and a strong eye for presentation are essential.
  • Well organised and proactive.
  • Great team player, but equally able to work on your own. Able to motivate and keep on task.
  • Good time management, capable of handling competing priorities.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and honest.
  • Friendly, ethical and respectable.
  • Our ideal candidate has a passion and knowledge of wholefoods, organics and environmental awareness.
