THE SEED OF AN AQUATIC GRASS
Wild Rice is actually not a variety of rice, or even a grain! Its the seed of a freshwater aquatic grass. It has a nutty, slightly peppery flavour and scrumptious chewy texture. High in protein and dietary fibre. Very easy to cook.
HOW TO USE
> Delicious in salads, pilaff, risotto, stuffing, soups, rice pudding or as a side with curries. It can also be ground as a flour to make baked goods, desserts and savoury dishes.
> Soak: Rinse, but no soaking required.
> Cook: Bring to boil and simmer for about 45min, or until tender and the outer husks pop open. 1 cup rice to 4 cups water.
Product should last up to 12 months if stored in an airtight container in a cool dark area.
